The General Overseer of the International Christian Faith Ministries—Ghana, Rev. Dr. Patrick E. Quainoo, has charged Ghanaians to pray for the country’s leaders. Speaking in an exclusive interview in his office at Accra, Rev Quainoo said: “I believe Ghanaians are not obeying God’s word to pray for our leaders, and that’s why we’re seeing all these occurrences in Governments, Political circles, and even Churches.
“ I sincerely believe that if you are a Christian in opposition and you don’t pray for the government in power all because you are obeying party rules, then you are a hypocrite.”
He added: “If you belong to The New Patriotic Party (NPP) and do not pray for President Mahama, you are not listening to God but your party and that doesn’t portray godliness”.
He quickly added that he doesn’t belong to any political party but only speaks as a man of God.
Ghana is rated top Religious Country in the World – ( By Gallop International)
Rev. Dr. Quainoo said that research by Gallop International shows that Ghana remains the number one Religious country in the world, and to him, that is a major problem for the nation of Ghana. Religious people have a form of godliness, but Spiritual people are God-fearing and therefore obey God.
“Staying in church houses and speaking tongues of fire alone won’t put food on the table. I am urging Ghanaians to reduce idle churchgoing and work. We leave our offices, spend all our time praying, and again expect magic. Forget it! God doesn’t work like that.”
Caution to youth
Rev. Dr. Quainoo cautioned the youth to be circumspect in all their dealings and to avoid the “get rich quick attitude.” He also charged men of God to stop preaching prosperity messages and preach the Word, for it is the only message that will move the country forward.
He concluded that no government can ever make the nation any better place to live without God.
